Details
The evolving and controversial world of intellectual property is dissected in this major that offers up-to-the-minute case studies. The units on offer include cyber law and policy, electronic commerce law, privacy law, open licensing and intellectual property litigation. You will also have the option to complete a research project. You may also be interested in the Master of Intellectual Property Law, which focuses on international and Asia-Pacific IP Law and is taught in partnership with WIPO
Units
Course structure
The course comprises 96 credit points (eight units) of coursework units. This can be achieved in one of two ways. Students may nominate a major and choose units to the value of at least 72 credit points from that particular major. The remaining 24 credit points can be chosen from any unit not included in the nominated major. Alternatively, students may complete the degree with a cross specialisation by choosing all 96 credit points from any of the majors.

LWN162 Australian Common Law System is a compulsory unit for all international students in their first semester of study.
Not all units are available in any one year. Generally, postgraduate units are offered on a two-year rotational basis, and are offered subject to staff availability and minimum enrolments being met. Units may be offered in internal, external or block mode of teaching. Units offered externally are not available for off-shore study - students must be living in Australia.
