Details
Master of Education (Leadership and Management) is designed to prepare you for leadership in educational settings. The program focuses on building and enhancing leadership capacity in aspiring and existing leaders and will keep you at the forefront of ever-changing educational practice.
The four units that constitute the leadership and management area of interest complement each other by providing both solid foundational understandings about leadership that develop capacity, and skills in aspiring and existing leaders. The knowledge areas include leading and managing people; leadership concepts, theories and issues; leadership, policy and change in action; and strategic management. You will gain advanced knowledge in leadership and management in educational settings.
Throughout Australia, there has been a steady demand for postgraduate university programs to enhance leadership learning. Our Leadership and Management study area has attracted a steady flow of students over the past 10 years and is one of the most popular areas of interest in the Master of Education degree. Students in this program come from primary and secondary schools within Australia and overseas, as well as from fields such as higher education, social work and human resource development and training.
Career outcomes
The leadership and management study area will be useful for educational practitioners and other practitioners who are interested in developing their leadership capacities, knowledge and skills. Past graduates have used this study area to secure leadership positions within middle management in schools, within educational systems, and within a variety of other professional settings such as hospitals, government and community organisations.
