Details

This study area is suitable if you want a Graduate Certificate in Education qualification but don’t want to specialise in a particular area. This course aims to prepare students for professional education careers by enhancing knowledge, creativity, initiative and planning. It will provide students with an advanced body of knowledge in professional education practices and recent developments in the field.  

Career outcomes

Graduates are prepared to apply knowledge gained to real-life working situations. Graduates may choose to work as an educator within their chosen professional field, or use the skills and knowledge gained across a diverse range of disciplines.

Units

Students can elect to graduate with a No Major/Study Area Graduate Certificate in Education, comprising of any four (4) units of study selected from the ED61 OPTION UNITS listed in the 'All course structures' link below.

International students on a student visa must study in full-time and internal mode: four (4) units per semester.  International students are permitted to take a maximum of 25% (one (1) unit) of their course externally.

 

 

 

 

Entry requirements

An appropriate 4 year Bachelor degree or equivalent at a standard acceptable to the Executive Dean and at least one year of appropriate professional or industrial experience

or

 a 3 year Bachelor degree or equivalent at a standard acceptable to the Executive Dean PLUS at least one year of appropriate professional or industrial experience.  

Students planning on studying the TESOL study area must have a teaching background (at least one year of appropriate professional experience). If the student does not have a teaching background, they will be required to take the TEFL study area instead.
