Details

As short-run productions, projects, events and festivals become the norm for the creative industries, the need for highly effective and educated event managers and producers has never been greater. These creative industries professionals require a range of skills and knowledge, including an awareness of current industrial agendas and trends, leadership skills, management and administration skills, communication skills, and effective market and audience development strategies.

Creative production and arts management study area

This course offers an industry-linked learning environment where professionals and academics in the field deliver informed, practical content. Connections with local and national leaders in arts, cultural and entertainment program delivery will ensure you benefit from their experience, mentorship and real-world project or internship opportunities. You will graduate with enhanced creative industries networks and the confidence to develop your own entrepreneurial projects, events and programs.

You can choose to study the skills most relevant to your professional development, including arts, cultural and entertainment industries policy; arts management; entertainment management; event, festival and venue management; entrepreneurship; enterprise development; law; marketing; and professional communication.

Assessment projects are practical and can be customised to your own interests and development needs as a producer of visual arts, theatre, dance, music, new media projects, television or film programs and events.

Entry requirements

An undergraduate degree with an overall minimum grade point average of 5.0 or above (on a 7-point scale). Students whose undergraduate degree is in a related creative industries discipline may apply for the Previously Studied Pathway. Applications without the requisite entry requirements will be considered for special entry. Please contact the Creative Industries Faculty for more information.
