Details

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is awarded in recognition of the candidate’s erudition in a broad field of learning and for notable accomplishment in that field through an original and substantial contribution to knowledge. This PhD is undertaken within the Faculty’s Centre for Learning Innovation. 

Course structure

Candidates undertake a supervised program of research which results in the submission of a thesis. Candidates are initially required to:

  • complete a stage one application form at the time of enrolment
  • submit a detailed research proposal three months later (six months for part-time students)
  • develop a full course of study in consultation with their supervisor within 12 months of admission for full-time candidates and 24 months for part-time candidates. This proposal is submitted to the Confirmation of Candidature Review Panel for approval
  • undertake an oral examination to present the research findings at the completion of the thesis.
  • Once successfully completed, the thesis is submitted to the appointed examiners to be assessed.

Applicants must possess a relevant first-class or second-class division A Honours degree, OR an appropriate masters degree. A good command of the English language is required. 

Course fees
