Professional recognition
The Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies is an approved childcare qualification with the Queensland Department of Education, Training and Employment (Office for Early Childhood Education and Care) and is accredited by the New South Wales Department of Community Services for employment in children’s services.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies are not eligible for teacher registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.

Additional entry requirements
Credit for prior learning (Advanced standing)
Students admitted with a completed Diploma of Children’s Services (Early Childhood Education and Care) or Advanced Diploma of Children’s Services (or an equivalent accredited qualification) will be automatically granted one year of credit (advanced standing) of 96 credit points and be eligible to complete the degree in two years full-time.
Working with Children Check: blue card
You'll need to apply for a blue card because you'll be working with children or young people as part of this course. There's no cost if you apply through QUT.
Submit your blue card application to the QUT Student Centre as early as possible - ideally, as soon as you've received your offer.
If you don't receive your blue card before the start of a unit that requires contact with children, you may be unable to participate and your grades may be affected. You may also still have to pay fees for the unit.
