You must:

  • be applying for or enrolled in one of:
    • Graduate Certificate of Business (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies) (BS39)
    • Master of Business (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies) (BS16)
    • Master of Business (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies) - Advanced (BS17).

You must also:

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

What you receive

You'll receive:

  • a one-off $1000 bursary payment towards your study and travel fees.

How to apply

You'll need to apply for this bursary online via the 2013 Equity Scholarships Scheme.

Applications for Semester 2 will open in late May.

What happens next

We'll assess your application and send you an email to advise if your application was successful.

If your application is successful we'll issue you with a $1000 bursary.

Conditions

You must:

  • complete a minimum of one unit of study in the year of the award
  • be committed to completing your program of study.

Background

The George Alexander Foundation was established by George Alexander AM in 1972 to provide grants for public charitable purposes in Australia. Mr Alexander spent the later years of his life living in Queensland. He was passionate about supporting education, and promoting the role of philanthropy in education.

The George Alexander Foundation Bursary Program was established in 2012 at QUT.
