Eligibility details

You must:

  • be an Indigenous Australian
  • provide Confirmation of Aboriginality to QUT's Oodgeroo Unit. If you need assistance to obtain your Confirmation of Aboriginality, please contact the Oodgeroo Unit
  • have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 4.5 out of 7 (or equivalent)
  • commence a postgraduate coursework degree at QUT in Semester 1, 2013.

What you receive

You'll receive:

  • $6,000 over one year, paid in two instalments of $3,000 in each semester.

What happens next

We'll assess your application based on your:

  • prior academic results
  • reference letter
  • goals and achievements as provided in your application
  • community involvement.

You will be informed in writing of the outcome of your application by mid to late March 2013.

Conditions

You must:

  • achieve a grade of 4 or above for all units in the first semester to retain the scholarship for the second semester
  • continue your second semester studies directly after the first semester
  • maintain an enrolment of at least 24 credit points per semester in the relevant course.

You can't:

  • defer your enrolment
  • normally hold more than one academic scholarship at QUT through this scholarship period.

Your scholarship may also be terminated if you:

  • don't carry out your study competently or diligently
  • behave in a manner that warrants disciplinary action
  • discontinue from the prescribed course or transfer to another course.
