Eligibility details
You must be:
- an Australian citizen or permanent visa holder, or New Zealand citizen
- studying full-time
- starting or completing your final year in any Bachelor of Nursing single or double degree in Semester 2, 2013.
What you receive
You'll receive:
$3,000 for educational purposes.
Determination of the tax exempt status of this bursary will be made by the Australian Tax Office. Please seek your own advice on this.
How to apply
You need to:
- complete the application form
- attach a complete set of your academic records, including a recent transcript of results indicating satisfactory progress in your course and your expected date of completion
- attach any other required supporting documents.
Submit your application and attachments to Professor Helen Edwards, Head, School of Nursing.

What happens next
We'll assess applications and notify you if you are successful.
Conditions
You must:
- be completing or commencing your final year in any Bachelor of Nursing single or double degree in Semester 2, 2013 at QUT
- remain enrolled full-time in your degree
- maintain an appropriate GPA in any required coursework, with minimum pass grades to successfully complete the degree
- submit written evidence of satisfactory academic progress each semester, to the Head of School of Nursing, who will then formally advise the Regional Manager – Masonic Care Queensland – Central and Southern Region of the results
- address potential applicants in the year following receipt of this Bursary.
You are:
- encouraged to undertake a significant component of your clinical practice during your third year at Masonic Care Queensland - Sandgate or another facility operated by the organisation
- able to apply for employment with Masonic Care Queensland – Sandgate as a casual employee while enrolled in your full-time study program, providing such employment does not hinder, interfere or prevent satisfactory progress toward completion of your degree.
Your scholarship will be terminated if:
- you don't satisfactorily progress in your degree. The School of Nursing will advise the Board of Benevolence and of Aged Masons, Widows and Orphans' Fund in this situation.
