Eligibility details
You must:
- be an Australian citizen
- be from a rural background, work in rural Australia, or your work contributes to rural Australia
- be a QUT Business graduate
- meet the entry requirements for the Harvard Leadership Forum
- have more than 10 years' experience working in business
- be a business leader at a private or public company or nonprofit organisation
- work as a senior corporate officer, executive, business unit leader or business owner.
What you receive
You'll receive a full scholarship to attend the Women's Leadership Forum, "Women in Power: Leadership in a New World". This forum is part of the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program, held at Harvard Business School in Boston, USA.
The scholarship includes:
- return airfare to Boston, USA, to attend the Women's Leadership Forum
- fees for tuition, books, case materials, accommodation and most meals
- travel insurance for the duration of the trip to fulfill the obligation of the scholarship, covered under our travel insurance policy.

Background
The Laurie Cowled Scholarship for Women in Leadership aims to foster the education of rural and regional women to ensure that they can make an outstanding difference to the future of Australia.
The scholarship will sponsor a female QUT Business graduate to attend the Harvard Women's Leadership Forum, "Women in Power: Leadership in a New World", in May 2012 at the Harvard Business School in Boston.
This program brings together an elite group of successful business women to encourage innovation and enhance leadership skills through an exploration of the latest management theories on the ties between innovation and leadership.
