You must:
- be an Indigenous Australian
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- show demonstrated active engagement within your Indigenous community
- apply through QTAC for a full-time place in the Bachelor of Business and be intending to major in any of the nine majors.

What you receive
You'll receive a scholarship valued at $23,450 to pay for student fees and a study stipend over 3.5 years.
If you're articulating from TAFE, you'll receive a proportional scholarship depending on the amount of credit for prior learning you receive at entry to your course.
We will allocate:
- approximately 60% of the scholarship direct to your student account to cover course fees
- the remainder of the scholarship as a study stipend/allowance, paid in instalments throughout your study.
You'll also receive two part-time internships in your second and third years of study, to ensure you get real-world experience in the industry.

What happens next
We will assess scholarship applications and shortlist applicants. If you're shortlisted, you'll be invited to attend an interview with the selection panel.
We'll base our decision on your:

- personal interview.
If you're successful, we'll award your scholarship once you've enrolled in your Bachelor of Business at our Gardens Point campus.
Conditions
- Purpose: The purpose of the 2013 Indigenous Student Intern Scholarship ("the Scholarship") is to help support a full-time student undertaking the single degree Bachelor of Business degree ("the Degree") at the Queensland University of Technology ("QUT").
- Confirmation of Aboriginality: If you have not already done so, you must provide your Confirmation of Aboriginality to the Oodgeroo Unit by email prior to accepting this scholarship. The Scholarships, Prizes and Awards Officer will contact the Oodgeroo Unit to confirm this document has been submitted.
- Duration of Scholarship: The Scholarship is tenable for three and a half (3.5) years.

Academic Requirements:Receipt of the Scholarship is subject at all times to the recipient:
- 4.1. remaining enrolled in the Degree in accordance with the program agreed with the Director of Undergraduate Studies, QUT Business School; and
- 4.2. maintaining an acceptable academic performance (i.e. a grade point average of 4.5 or above throughout the duration of the Degree and a passing grade (of greater than or equal to 4) in all units of the Degree.
- Personal and Professional Requirements: The recipient is required to undertake two 15-week part-time work placements in Semester 1 of their second and third years of the Degree. The recipient is required to conduct themselves in a professional manner acceptable to the organisation for which they undertake the work placement and to the QUT Business School.
- Enrolment and Changes in Enrolment: The recipient must enrol in accordance in the Degree in accordance with the program agreed with the Director of Undergraduate Studies, QUT Business School. Changes to the recipient's enrolment must be approved by the Director of Undergraduate Studies, QUT Business School.
- Scholarship Value: The value of the scholarship is $23,450 over three and a half years.
- Use of Scholarship: The Scholarship is provide principally for education purposes. Approximately 50% of the scholarship will be directly applied to the recipient's QUT student account to cover course fees and the remainder is paid as a study stipend/allowance after the census date throughout the semesters of study. A proprosed budget will be agreed with the recipient. The recipient may use the study stipend/allowance to assist with any expenses directly related to the study of the Degree.
- Payment to Recipient: The recipient will receive the first study stipend payment after the census date of the first semester of the Degree. Payment of semester fees will be paid directly to the recipient's student fees account by the relevant due dates. Provided the recipient continues to comply with the requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions, subsequent payments will be made in the manner detailed above at the commencement of each semester. The recipient must provide and keep provided to QUT accurate bank details to ensure payments are processed correctly.
- Other requirements of the Recipient: The recipient may be required to attend and participate in preparatory workshops conducted by QUT as directed by the QUT Business School. This may include, but is not limited to orientation sessions and preparatory work placement workshops.
- No other scholarships: The recipient must not accept any other academic scholarship for the duration of the Degree.
- Employment: For the avoidance of doubt, the Scholarship is intended for academic purposes only and is not intended to create any form of employment relationship with QUT or the sponsoring company with whom the recipient will undertake the internship. The recipient will not be paid for the internship and should consider their financial situation prior to accepting the scholarship. The recipient is permitted to negotiate directly and undertake paid employment with the sponsoring company outside of the purpose, scope and duration of the Scholarship.
- No interference: The recipient must ensure that any paid employment of any nature, with any employer, undertaken by the recipient, must not interfere in any way with the recipient's requirements for completing the Degree. QUT reserves the right to terminate the Scholarship if (in the opinion of QUT) progress in the Degree, as a result of additional paid work being undertaken, is not satisfactory.
- Withdrawal from scholarship program: If the recipient wishes to withdraw from the Scholarship program they must advise the Director of Undergraduate Studies, QUT Business School at the earliest possible time. The recipient may be requested to refund QUT any monies paid to the recipient in the semester in which the recipient withdraws from the Scholarship program. The recipient is not required to refund any monies paid for semester studies completed whilst still a participant in the Scholarship program.
- Termination of scholarship: QUT reserves the right in it sole discrtion to terminate the Scholarship if the recipient does not comply with the requirements set out in clauses 3 (Academic Requirements), 4 (Personal and Professional Requirements) and 12 (No interference) or if the recipient has committed serious misconduct. If the Scholarship is terminated in accordance with this clause, no further payments will be made to the recipient and QUT may request the recipient to refund any monies paid by QUT to the recipient in the semester in which the Scholarship is terminated in accordance with this clause 14. QUT's decision to terminate the Scholarship is final and there is not right of appeal.
- Tax exemption: The Scholarship has been deemed tax exempt by QUT, subject to any further determination made by the Australian Tax Office
- Recipient Warranty: The recipient assures QUT that there are no impediments to their ability to complete the Degree as part of the Scholarship program or meeting the Scholarship performance requirements. Should any impediment, problems or concerns arise at any stage before or during the scholarship program (including during the internship) the recipient undertakes to contact the Scholarships, Prizes and Awards Officer and/or the Director, Undergraduate Studies at QUT without delay for guidance.

QUT Business School is pleased to be offering scholarships to contribute to the academic and career success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Recipients will graduate with an internationally recognised QUT Bachelor of Business degree and significant work experience in 3.5 years.
Two part-time internship placements, in years 2 and 3 of the degree, with our corporate sponsors ensure students receive real-world work experience.
Students can enter the scholarship program upon completion of Year 12 or via articulation from TAFE.
