Eligibility details

You must:

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • have a minimum OP 5
  • have outstanding academic ability
  • demonstrate leadership skills
  • demostrate involvement in community service and extra-curricular activities
  • be a female Queensland Year 12 student who is applying to start an eligible Information Technology (IT) course at QUT in Semester 1, 2012.

What you receive

You'll receive:

  • one of up to 5 scholarships valued at $4,000. The scholarship is paid in two $2,000 installments, one in Semester 1 and the other in Semester 2, 2012
  • a complimentary 12 month student membership of the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

How to apply

  1. Apply through QTAC for entry into an eligible single or double undergraduate Information Technology Bachelor degree at QUT for Semester 1, 2012.

  2. Complete the 2012 Go for IT gURL Merit Scholarship application form by the due date.

What happens next

We will assess applications based on our selection criteria. We will award up to 5 scholarships for 2012.

We'll notify you of the outcome of your application in early January. If your application is successful, you'll be expected to start studying in Semester 1, 2012.

Conditions

You must:

  • remain enrolled full-time at QUT for the duration of the scholarship
  • achieve a grade of 4 or above for all units in Semester 1 to keep the scholarship in Semester 2.

You can't:

  • defer your offer of a place in your course and still keep your scholarship.

You scholarship will be terminated at the end of 2012, or if you:

  • choose not to continue with your course
  • transfer to another course
  • don't carry out your course of study with competence and diligence
  • behave in a manner that breaches student rules.

Background

This scholarship for female Information Technology students is funded by the Faculty but paid via the Australian Computer Society (ACS) Foundation.
