Eligibility details

You must:
  • have confirmed candidature if you are enrolled in the doctoral program
  • have the approval of your supervisor and Head of School or Director of Research before travelling
  • be presenting a paper or poster at an interstate or overseas conference as the first-named author if you are applying for a conference grant
  • not have received a previous study or conference GIA during your tenure
  • be receiving substantial funding support from the faculty.

QUT staff are not normally eligible for GIA funding unless no other funding is available.

What you receive

The Grant-in-Aid scheme will fund 50% of a return economy airfare up to $1,000.

The Faculty of Health will match the Grant-in-Aid amount up to $1,000.

You may also allocate funding from your annual postgraduate student allowance (normally $1,500) with the approval of your principal supervisor.
