You must:

• be applying for or enrolled in one of:
  • Graduate Certificate of Business (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies) (BS39)
  • Master of Business (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies) (BS16)
  • Master of Business (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies) - Advanced (BS17).

You must also:

• be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
• be a current member of Educate Plus, and remain a member through your studies
• be experiencing financial hardship
• have some demonstrated contribution to the education sector through roles in:
  • development
  • fundraising
  • alumni relations
  • communications and marketing
  • public relations
  • admissions and enrolment
  • external affairs
  • community engagement
  • business marketing
• show potential to further contribute to the education sector.

You'll receive:

• a scholarship to cover 50% of your tuition fees for your Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies units.

You'll need to apply for this scholarship online via the 2013 Equity Scholarships Scheme.

Applications for Semester 2 will open in late May.

We'll assess your application and score it against criteria including your:

• individual financial situation
• income
• personal circumstances.

Applications that meet the criteria will be sent to the Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies. 

All applications will be assessed by a selection panel consisting of:

• Executive Dean, QUT Business School (or nominee)
• Nominee for Educate Plus
• Subject Area Coordinator, The Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies
• President, ACPNS Alumni Chapter

The panel will assess applications based primarily on the information you provide. You may be asked to provide further information such as your contribution, or potential to contribute, to the education sector.

The selection panel may decide to shortlist and interview candidates.

We'll announce the panel's decision by the end of March and July each year. If you're successful, we'll notify you in writing.

You will receive your tuition fee reimbursement only if you successfully complete the applicable units.

If you fail to successfully complete a unit, you won't receive your scholarship payment.

We will calculate travel grant payments based on receipts for your travel to and from the orientation and intensive program sessions, including:

• accommodation
• meals
• travel costs.

The Educate Plus ACPNS Scholarship is designed to assist members of Educate Plus to undertake study through The Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies (ACPNS) to further their careers and enhance their contribution to the Australasian education and nonprofit sectors.
