Eligibility details
You must:
- be a female Australian citizen
- be studying an undergraduate course at QUT
- be from a low-income background
- preferably be from a rural or remote background
- preferably be undertaking a course in natural or physical science, architecture and building, education or creative arts.
We may consider academic merit when assessing applications.
Both commencing and continuing QUT students are eligible for this scholarship.
What you receive
You'll receive:
- a scholarship of $5,000 for one year.
How to apply
Applications for Semester 1, 2013 Equity Scholarships have now closed. Applications for Semester 2, 2013 will open in late May.
What happens next
We will assess your application and score it against our selection criteria.
We allocate scholarships based on need - the neediest students will receive the highest value scholarships.
The number of scholarships available will determine the cut-off to receive a scholarship.
Conditions
You must be enrolled in the semester you applied for. Before we pay your scholarship, we will check your enrolment status to ensure you are still enrolled and eligible.
Background
Philanthropist Laurie Cowled funds these scholarships with the intention of fostering the education of women, particularly from rural or remote backgrounds, who are studying natural or physical science, architecture or building, education or creative arts.
