You must:
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- have completed Year 12 at an Australian secondary school in the year you apply or the previous year
- apply for and gain a full-time place in the Bachelor of Business.
What you receive
You'll receive:
- a scholarship valued at $36,000, paid over three years, to spend on HECS-HELP, university fees, textbooks and living expenses
- two 15-week internships with one or more of our corporate partners

Lodge your QTAC application, ensuring QUT Bachelor of Business is your first preference.
Step-by-step guide to applying for undergraduate courses
You can list a Bachelor of Business double degree as your first preference and still be eligible for the scholarship. However, if your scholarship application is successful, you must change to a Bachelor of Business single degree.

Step 3
Follow the instructions in the application guide to complete your application. Include letters of support from two school, work, or personal referees.
Step 4
Mail your application to the QUT Business School Scholarships, Prizes and Awards Officer.
What happens next
We'll send you a letter to let you know that we've received your application.
A panel of representatives from QUT and the sponsoring organisations will assess your application. We'll pay particular attention to how well you've addressed the selection criteria.
We'll contact you to let you know if you've been shortlisted. This may take a few weeks.
If you're shortlisted, you must be available in the week commencing 26 November 2012 for an interview with the panel. Our Scholarships, Prizes and Awards Officer will phone you to arrange the interview and confirm the details in writing.
After your interview, we'll let you know if your application is successful. If it is, we'll send you a letter with confirmation and further details.
Conditions
- The purpose of this scholarship is to help support a full-time student undertaking the single degree Bachelor of Business at the Queensland University of Technology.
- Academic Requirements: The scholarship is tenable for three years and is subject to the recipient remaining enrolled full-time in the degree. The recipient will also need to maintain an acceptable academic performance (grade point average of 5.5 or above) throughout the duration of the program and a passing grade (greater than or equal to 4) in all units. The University reserves the right to terminate the scholarship if satisfactory academic performance is not maintained.
- Personal and Professional Requirements: As part of the scholarship program, the recipient is required to undertake two 15 week work placements in Semester One of their second and third years of study. The recipient is required to conduct themselves in a professional manner acceptable to the organisation for which they undertake the work placement and to QUT Business School. The University reserves the right to terminate the scholarship if the recipient does not meet this requirement.
- The scholarship is provided principally for educational purposes.
- Students may be required to attend and participate in preparatory workshops conducted by the University as directed by the QUT Business School. This may include, but is not limited to orientation sessions and preparatory work placement workshops.
- Students must enrol in accordance with the program agreed with the Director of Undergraduate Studies. Changes to the agreed program must be approved by the Director of Undergraduate Studies.
- The value of the scholarship is $36,000 over three years to cover Commonwealth Assistance, and any other additional expenses directly related to study. A proposed budget will be agreed with the recipient and payments will be made on a semester basis.
- Paid employment of any nature, with any employer, undertaken by the recipient must not interfere with the student's study program. The University reserves the right to terminate the award if progress - as a result of additional paid work being undertaken - is not satisfactory.
- The recipient cannot become (or continue to be), as a requirement of the scholarship, a paid employee of the University or the sponsor/s of the scholarship, either during the tenure of the scholarship or upon its completion. The University is not responsible, nor liable, for any work negotiated between the student and the sponsoring organisation falling outside of the scope of the scholarship program.
- This scholarship has been deemed tax exempt by QUT, but ultimate determination will be made by the Australian Taxation Office. Please retain this statement with your tax documentation. Additional taxation information is attached.
- The recipient must not accept any other academic scholarship for the duration of their Bachelor program at QUT.
- A student wishing to withdraw from the program must advise the Director of Undergraduate Studies at the earliest possible time. A student may be requested to refund to the University any monies provided in the semester in which the student withdraws from the program. The student is not required to refund any monies paid for semester studies completed whilst still a participant in the program.
- The student undertakes to make contact with the QUT Business School Scholarships, Prizes and Awards Officer at any stage throughout the scholarship, including the work placement, should any problems, difficulties or concerns arise.
- There are no impediments to my ability to complete the CPIE internship or meet the CPIE internship performance requirements. Should any impediment arise before or during the CPIE internship I undertake to contact the Scholarships, Prizes and Awards Officer and the Director, Undergraduate Studies without delay for guidance.
