What you'll receive

You'll receive $3,000 per annum for full-time students.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be enrolled in the honours program
  • research in an area that aligns with CARRS-Q's research.

If the number of candidates is greater than the number of bursaries available, the Centre Director may take into account other aspects of undergraduate record and past experience.

How to apply

Applications open before the beginning of Semester 1 each year.

To apply:

1. Apply for an honours degree.

2. Complete the CARRS-Q Honours Bursary in Road Safety application form. Email carrsq@qut.edu.au to request a copy of the application form.

3. Include:

  • a copy of your academic transcript (if you're not a QUT graduate)
  • a one-page description of your academic and working life, and your future aspirations.

4. Submit your application to the carrsq@qut.edu.au

What happens next?

Applications close 1st March 2021.

A selection panel will assess your applications, and notify you if you're successful.

Your application will be assessed primarily on your GPA, followed by your proposed research topic and interest in the area.

Conditions

To keep your scholarship, you must:

  • complete any required coursework units
  • maintain an appropriate GPA in any coursework
  • dedicate at least 40 hours per week to your study
  • submit a publishable dissertation at the end of your study
  • adhere to the Intellectual Property Agreement of QUT.

You can't:

  • continue any other paid employment that interferes with your study.

About the scholarship

This bursary supports students who are studying an Honours program in the School of Psychology and Counselling. The bursary is funded by the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety - Queensland (CARRS-Q).
