What you receive

You'll receive from QUT:

  • a tuition fee waiver for the duration of your course, which is normally one year for masters students and three years for doctoral students.

You'll receive from CSC:

  • funding for living allowances, one return airfare, visa application fees and health insurance.

How to apply

  1. Choose a research topic.

    We encourage you to consider QUT's research strengths to ensure your project aligns with an existing QUT research direction. Research support staff in your intended faculty can work with you to develop your research topic and make sure it has the right scope for the research degree.

  2. Prepare a research proposal.

    Applicants are required to submit a research proposal, including a clear statement of no more than 500 words, covering:

    • Area of research, including faculty/centre/school in which the course of study lies (if known)
    • Objectives of the program of research and investigation
    • Proposed QUT principal supervisor/QUT associate supervisor(s)/non- QUT associate supervisor, and
    • Associate supervisors (if known).
  3. Find a supervisor.

    Finding the right supervisor if vitally important for the success of your research. You can search QUT's academic and research staff information online by faculty, profile or research topic at http://www.qut.edu.au/study/phds-and-research-degrees/finding-a-supervisor.

  4. Gather your supporting documentation.

    Certified copies of your QUT FR form, academic research proposal and academic transcript.

  5. Submit your application.

    Complete the QUT FR application form, indicating that you are a CSC applicant in section 7 of the form. This form is available online. Submit this along with your supporting documentation.

  6. Application fee.

    An application fee is not required for CSC applicants.

  7. Offer letters.

    You will receive an admission offer letter if your application is approved. You then need to submit a separate application to the China Scholarship Council.

What happens next

CSC will notify you of the outcome. Please send a copy of this notification to QUT at qut.intadmission-e@qut.edu.au.

QUT and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) are jointly awarding postgraduate scholarships to Chinese students who intend to undertake a postgraduate research degree at QUT.
