Eligibility details

You must be:

  • an Australian South Sea Islander student. This means you must be a direct descendant of South Sea Islanders who were brought into Queensland between 1863 and 1904 and worked as indentured labourers
  • enrolled in an undergraduate course at QUT.

What you receive

You'll receive:

  • $5,000 per year if you are a full-time student
  • $2,500 per year if you are a part-time student.

Applications for 2012 have now closed.

Applications for 2013 will open in early December 2012.

Background

The Australian South Sea Islander Community Foundation Scholarship Program annually awards scholarships to the value of $5,000 per year for full-time students or $2,500 per year for part-time students.
