Eligibility details
You must:
- be enrolled in a Graduate Certificate of Business with a declared major of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies
- be experiencing financial hardship (60% of scholarship weighting)
- have a strong academic background (20% of scholarship weighting)
- have a work history in nonprofit organisation, or career goals to work in a nonprofit organisation (20% of scholarship weighting)
- come from a rural, regional or remote area to qualify for the travel grant.
What you receive
You'll receive:
- a scholarship to cover half of your tuition fees, paid as a partial reimbursement of the fees for your BS39 Graduate Certificate in Business (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies) at the end of Semester 1 and 2 each year.
You may also receive a travel grant of up to $500 if you need to travel from rural, regional or remote areas to attend the Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies orientation and intensive weekend.
Travel grants are available to students enrolled in:
- BS39 Graduate Certificate in Business (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies)
- BS16 Master of Business (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies)
- BS17 Master of Business - Advanced (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies)
How to apply
- Complete the application form (PDF file 457 KB)
- You will need to supply proof of your circumstances. If you don't have official documentation, you can complete a statutory declaration. If your application doesn't have supporting documentation, you may be disadvantaged.
- You can include additional supporting evidence, such as written references, with your application.
- Include certified copies of any academic records from institutions other than QUT.
- Send your application to the Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies.
What happens next
All applications will be reviewed by a selection panel consisting of:
- Executive Dean, QUT Business School (or nominee)
- Director, The Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies
- President, ACPNS Alumni Chapter.
The panel will assess applications based primarily on the information you provide. The selection panel may decide to shortlist and interview candidates.
We'll announce the panel's decision by the end of March and July each year. If you're successful, we'll notify you in writing.
Conditions
You will receive your tuition fee reimbursement only if you successfully complete the applicable units.
If you fail to successfully complete a unit, you won't receive your scholarship payment.
We will calculate travel grant payments based on receipts for your travel to and from the orientation and intensive program sessions, including:
- accommodation
- meals
- travel costs.
