Create and commercialise new music with the help of leading industry professionals in this hands-on masters degree.
The music industry is changing faster than any other. The Master of Fine Arts (Music Industry Professions) is designed to meet the challenges of this new industry landscape.
The degree focuses on developing new works for commercial music markets. It is a cohort-based degree with students working in teams of three to four, specialising in marketing, management, production, or performance. You will work in a professional setting and be supervised by Music and Sound staff with regular masterclasses by leading industry figures and QUT Independent Music Project industry partners.
You will explore all aspects of the creative development of new music and its international promotion and distribution. Master of Fine Arts student cohorts will work with artists from South-East Queensland’s rich musical landscape and be taught by leading industry professionals in our industry-quality production facilities.

Entry requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants must hold an appropriate Bachelor degree (or equivalent), relevant to the field and/or relevant professional work experience.
Applicants will be assessed on a portfolio of their work which should include a professional CV.
Course fees
Your actual fees may vary depending on which units you choose. All fees are based on current fixed fee prices. We review fees annually.
2013: $7,800 (indicative) per Semester (48 credit points) (subject to annual review)
