Dean’s Scholars are highly sought after by industry as the potential future leaders in engineering. The Dean’s Scholars Program is the only scholarship and development program of its kind in Queensland, offering outstanding students a scholarship to complete studies in engineering, opportunities to access valuable industry exposure, international exchange programs, and mentoring.
The Program is open to Australian and international students with outstanding academic ability and leadership potential, who are entering university from Year 12 or a gap year.

If you are accepted into the Dean’s Scholars Program, your scholarship will give you a real head start. As a Dean’s Scholar you will network with current industry leaders in a range of organised forums including:
- company site visits with major industry players, which give you the opportunity to experience high-level engineering management and environments

Units
Work Integrated Learning unit
Bachelor of Engineering students are required to complete at least 60 days of industrial experience in an engineering environment approved by the course coordinator as part of the Work Integrated Learning unit.

2012 applications and registrations have closed.
Applications at QTAC and registration with QUT for the 2012 intake was due on the 30 November 2011 and have now closed.
Applicants must:
- Be a current Year 12 student or returning from a gap year.
- Complete the Engineering Dean's Scholars questionnaire which will be available via the Engineering Dean's Scholars website.
- Attend an interview.
Assumed knowledge
Before you start this course we assume you have sound knowledge in these areas:
- English
- Maths B
We assume that you have knowledge equivalent to four semesters at high school level (Years 11 and 12) with sound achievement (4, SA). Recommended study: Chemistry, Maths C and Physics.
Deferment
You can't defer your offer in this course. You must start in the semester you apply for.
Course fees
Your actual fees may vary depending on which units you choose. All fees are based on current fixed fee prices. We review fees annually.
2012: CSP $3,804 (indicative) per Semester (subject to annual review)
