Advanced standing
Advanced standing (credit)
If you've done any previous study, including START QUT, you may be eligible for advanced standing.
Advanced standing is the way we recognise your prior learning. If you're granted credit for your previous study, it will count towards your course, so you won't have to study some units and you might even be able to graduate sooner.

The entry process for performance and creative arts courses at QUT has changed for 2024.
Additional entry is now only required for Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting).
Other courses may still have ways you can get in by using your performance qualifications.

Adjustment schemes
We have adjustment schemes for elite athletes and students with difficult circumstances. You may also get an adjustment depending on the subjects you studied at high school.
Worried you won't get in?

Preparatory studies
Bridging programs
We offer short programs in physics, chemistry and Maths B. Studying these programs can help you develop the understanding you need to meet assumed knowledge or prerequisites for your course.
