QUT allocates places to applicants on the basis of merit. Academic merit for undergraduate, graduate degree and Graduate Diploma in Education courses is measured by OP entry rank. Detailed information on the wide variety of undergraduate entry pathways to QUT is available in the publication Real Options. This book is especially useful for upgrading, mature-age, and alternative entry students.
Information about special entry schemes for people from specific backgrounds is available through Special entry.
Applicants who have completed their studies in a language other than English and who are now permanent residents in Australia may be requested to undertake a test of their proficiency in English, unless they have successfully completed studies at an institution where English was the medium of instruction.
Selection for a quota place in one of QUT's courses can also depend upon interviews, auditions and portfolios, questionnaires, geographic location, prior studies, and prior employment.
