Mathematical sciences
Overview
Research in the Mathematical Sciences crosses disciplines to provide innovative solutions for our community. Computational modelling has delivered solutions for environmental, energy and health management, while statistics work has focused on financial issues and global security. Mathematical Science staff work in a broad range of areas, but are organised under three major programs:
- Applied & Computational Mathematics
- Statistics
- Operations Research
Our courses are designed to give talented students research skills for use in the real world. Studying with QUT may be the first step in your research career, or place you in a competitive position for entering the workforce.
Thinking of studying a PhD?
Our Industry Doctoral Training Centre aims to address the skills shortage in mathematical sciences by providing a PhD program in collaboration with major business and industry organisations.
