International students
Applications for admission to a research higher degree are made by the FR Form (PDF, 353KB).
A typical application process for international students is:
1. Select your course
QUT offers research higher degrees from masters to professional doctorate and Doctor of Philosophy.
2. Choose a research topic
You probably have a clear idea where your research interests lie. We encourage you to consider QUT's research to ensure your project aligns with an existing QUT research direction.
3. Discuss your options
Discussing your interests early will make completing your application and research proposal much easier. Research support staff in your intended Faculty can work with you to develop your research topic and make sure it has the right scope and scale for the research degree you wish to complete.
4. Consider your scholarship options
QUT provides access to a range of scholarships to support you through your research, including fee waiver scholarships for international students
5. Find a supervisor
There are a number of ways you can search for a research supervisor who will help guide your studies.
6. Gather your supporting documentation
You will need to submit the following with your application:
- Research project proposal
