About the centre

The Queensland Dementia Training Study Centre (QLD DTSC) was established in April 2010 as part of the Australian Government's Dementia Initiative and is led by QUT and a host of partners.

Under its funding agreement with the Australian Government, the QLD DTSC provides dementia education and training services to metropolitan, regional, rural and remote areas of Queensland.

What we do

  • medical practitioners
  • social workers
  • occupational and diversional therapists
  • psychologists
  • physiotherapists.

We focus on developing specialised dementia education and training opportunities that increase the number of health professionals specifically trained in dementia care, and raise the profile of dementia studies. Our training opportunities include:

  • postgraduate studies
  • scholarships
  • work-based placements
  • clinical workshops
  • guest lectures
  • research and consultancy.
