IMP is Australia's first and only interdisciplinary music research centre. The IMP brings together industry professionals and emerging talent with researchers from the faculties of Business, Creative Industries, Education, Law, and Science and Engineering.
The project is centered on the development and creation of new music, and includes research into copyright, business models of the future, new technologies, and new audiences. It also explores the diffusion of music through online social networks eg. youtube, myspace, facebook, lastfm.com etc. Experiences from this project will develop important competence in relation to new venture development also in other sectors.
