The Dementia Collaborative Research Centre: Carers and Consumers (DCRC:CC), based at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), is one of three Dementia Collaborative Research Centres established with Australian Government funding.
These centres are an Australian Government initiative under Dementia: A National Health Priority. This initiative is an innovative plan to enhance the assessment and care of people with dementia and their families.
The Primary Dementia Collaborative Research Centre is based at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and focuses on Assessment and Better Care Outcomes. The centre based at Australian National University (ANU) focuses on Prevention, Risk Reduction and Early Detection.
The centres' aims are to enhance the quality of assessment in care by translating research into practice.
The foci of the DCRC:CC research is on carers, providers and social aspects of dementia, with the key objective of promoting increased dementia research and improving services for people with dementia, their carers and family.
