This evaluation seeks to answer the following research questions:
Role:
- What are the different roles of Cancer Care Coordinators within Queensland Health?
- What part of the journey should the Cancer Care Coordination role be targeted towards?
- Is the Cancer Care Coordination role a cost effective way of coordinating care and enabling patients to access Multidisciplinary Care?
Models of Care:
- What are the different models of Cancer Care Coordination used in the program and the merits of these models.
- Do the models support the cultural and geographic needs of the populations that they service?
Outcome:
- Has the Cancer Care Coordination role improved the experience of patients?
- What should the governance and support structures for Cancer Care Coordination services include?
- What are the enablers and barriers to the Cancer Care Coordination role in operating effectively within Queensland Health?
To enable a comprehensive evaluation, data will be collected from Cancer Care Coordinators, patients, carers, clinicians (including Allied Health staff) and managers.
