Topic status: We're looking for students to study this topic.
This project aims to seek suitable features/cues from speech and images and fusing algorithms for the purpose of finding salient events in a video. We also will explore the use of web and social media contents to enrich the summary and identify the key topics in the video. For example, during the Federal Election 2010, the video (TV) and web social articles are all highly correlated. Analysis of multi-modal features from these sources of information will produce a more complete understanding of key issues covered within a particular topic.
