Topic status: We're looking for students to study this topic.
A workflow system can be used to support business process applications involving multiple participants and scheduling tasks in a workflow system requires careful consideration. In a workflow system, it is customary to allocate a person to work on a particular task. However, in reality, more than one person can work on the same task at the same time. Hence, there is a need to evaluate the implications of involving multiple resources in task executions. A resource calendar can also provide the knowledge regarding the availability of resources in the system. In this research, we are interested in capturing the detailed requirements of multiple resources and resource calendars in workflow systems. The student will be required to develop ORM models of these requirements and to develop a relational schema for them.
