We have prepared some new ligands containing pyridine and amine functional groups. The project aims to investigate their reactions with late transition metal complexes and to characterise the resulting complexes.
Research activities
The project involved laboratory synthesis and purification, instrumental characterisation (NMR, UV and IR spectroscopy; mass spectrometry), library/online research, and writing up the results in a scholarly format.
Expected outcomes
The project will result in the synthesis and characterisation of new metal-containing species.
Duration of project
Flexible, around 8 weeks during semester break.
Number of hours
Around 30 hours/week are expected (including laboratory work, library research and write-up).
