Overview

Topic status: We're looking for students to study this topic.

Queensland Museum classifies visitors as strollers, students and streakers. Strollers engage in a leisurely way with the museum while students are involved in a purposeful, guided experience. Streakers are seeking a brief engagement with the museum but their motivations and experiences are not well understood.

Hypothesis/Aims

The aim of this project is to design, develop and evaluate an iPhone prototype to support streaking by museum visitors. Approaches: The project will involve initial user studies or background literature review to understand streaker motivations, followed by design, development and evaluation of an iPhone app to support streakers making visiting decisions. This could, for example, involve augmenting existing content from the Queensland Museum website with user-generated content such as ratings or comments.
