Overview

Topic status: We're looking for students to study this topic.

Various groundwater / hydrology projects can be developed, some of which may have scholarship money available. Depending on the project they can have more emphasis on geology, chemistry, system processes, hydrology, or modelling of different types.  Locations are in coastal settings, or freshwater catchments.

  • Surface and groundwater quality of Glass Mountain Creek, Pumicestone catchment.   This type of study can be readily applied to a number of different locations
  • Groundwater occurrence and hydrochemistry of Teviot Brook catchment. Much data is available for this project, including geology and water chemistry
  • Groundwater setting, data, occurrence, hydrogeological model for subcatchments within Lockyer Valley or along the Middle Brisbane River
  • There are a number of coastal areas with aquifers in Quaternary sedimentary deposits, and some variable and interesting water chemistry. Potential collaboration with Dr Craig Sloss
