Topic status: We're looking for students to study this topic.
This project involves developing new or improved mathematical models of the interactions between cells in tumours and the cells of the host immune system, based on existing biological understanding. The models will include descriptions of treatment strategies and optimal control theory will be used to propose efficient and effective treatments. Mathematical topics involved: model development, ordinary differential equations, optimal control, numerical solution procedures. No prior knowledge of biology is required to complete this project.
