Online scheduling will be considered in this project for the Operating Theatre. Changes to the offline schedule during project implementation will be minimised using an online scheduling model that operates in real-time. The project aims to minimise cancellations of pre-scheduled elective patients whilst also allowing for additional scheduling of emergency cases, time permitting, which may arise during the schedules implementation. Surgical durations will be modelled with different distributions for multiple theatre cases.
