Overview

Topic status: We're looking for students to study this topic.

Insect pest resistance to protectants and insecticides is of major economic importance to the world's agricultural industries. This project will use Bayesian approaches to analyse spatially collected data on the resistance of insect pests to grain protectants. Biological and genetic dynamics of pest populations will inform the modelling, which aims ultimately to assess various management options, and to recommend improved surveillance mechanisms. The project will maintain close links with entomologists and industry.
