Topic status: We're looking for students to study this topic.
This project involves a detailed study of plant specimens so as to determine whether they should be classified as a new species. It includes data collection through researching literature, examining microscopic characters and measuring morphological characters. Comparing character states and ranges with related species will follow, so that the circumscription of the taxon, including hierarchical level, can be determined.
