The Smart Services CRC is conducting research into the description of "Services", which can be IT, or human-centric. The approach uses a metamodel, in the Eclipse EMF modelling framework, to define the metadata needed to describe services. There is a generic (superset) version of the metadata model, which is used to create smaller, more specific versions of the model. Each version of the model will have a database repository generated from it which stores model descriptions. These repositories will need APIs for client applications to interact with them. The project will involve an approach to generating APIs for the purpose of populating a service repository, and querying these populations. Investigations will involve considerations of the granularity of data objects to pass across the API, and of the generation of the XML types of these objects.
Experience preferred, on a scale from more fundamental to more specific: Object Orientation, Eclipse/Java, EMF or MOF or UML Class Modeling, Eclipse Plugins, EMF code generation, EMF code generation.
