Overview
Topic status: We're looking for students to study this topic.
The measurement of Information Systems (IS) has been the focus of IS Professional Services at QUT for around ten years. The result of this research stream is the IS-Impact model. Behind the IS-Impact model is a perceptions based survey that allows organisations to survey groups of users across the four dimensions of: Individual-Impact, Organizational-Impact, System-Quality and Information-Quality. From the analysis of the collected survey data the organisation is presented with information on the status of the surveyed Information System.
Validation of the IS-Impact theory is ongoing via Masters and Doctoral Projects under the leadership of Prof. Guy Gable. However, the focus of this Honors project is the reporting of information from IS-Impact data sets; the objectives of this project include:
- To build a multi-user relational database of IS-Impact data.
- To research Open Source data analytic and reporting tools (in a cloud environment).
- To workshop with IS-Impact researches available reports from the IS-Impact data.
- Using the selected Open Source reporting tools generate high-quality reports from the IS-Impact data.
This project will further develop skills learnt in the area of Relational dataBase design, SQL, Data Analytics and Data Presentation skills.
Required Knowledge: MySQL, Open Source reporting tools, Microsoft Excel.
