Topic status: We're looking for students to study this topic.

The following projects can be developed:
  1. investigating the origin of diamond indicator minerals such as pyrope garnet in volcanic rocks other than kimberlites and their relevance to diamond exploration (honours)
  2. investigation of the Nd isotope composition of mafic rocks from 3.6 to 3.0 Ga to provide information on the nature of the Earth’s bulk composition from a period of time where all previous mantle heterogeneities were removed
  3. volcanic stratigraphy in Permo-Carboniferous volcanics in central Queensland associated with epithermal style mineralisation (honours)
  4. the volcanic stratigraphy and petrological evolution of the Antrim Plateau Volcanics, North Australia,a Cambrian flood basalt province
  5. the volcanic stratigraphy and petrological evolution of the Mt Roe Basalts, Pilbara Craton, West Australia, a late Archean flood basalt province.
