The following projects can be developed:- investigating the origin of diamond indicator minerals such as pyrope garnet in volcanic rocks other than kimberlites and their relevance to diamond exploration (honours)
- investigation of the Nd isotope composition of mafic rocks from 3.6 to 3.0 Ga to provide information on the nature of the Earth’s bulk composition from a period of time where all previous mantle heterogeneities were removed
- volcanic stratigraphy in Permo-Carboniferous volcanics in central Queensland associated with epithermal style mineralisation (honours)
- the volcanic stratigraphy and petrological evolution of the Antrim Plateau Volcanics, North Australia,a Cambrian flood basalt province
- the volcanic stratigraphy and petrological evolution of the Mt Roe Basalts, Pilbara Craton, West Australia, a late Archean flood basalt province.
