There are 300 million individuals with asthma worldwide, and despite advances in research, this number is expected to increase to 400 million by 2025. Australia has the second highest incidence of asthma in the world. This research is based on individuals with asthma who exercise, which includes those with exercise-induced asthma. These investigations include the use of genomic and proteomic approaches to investigate the mechanisms controlling the physiological responses to exercise in individuals with asthma.
