Cloud computing is a new computation paradigm for enabling convenient, on-demand Internet access to a shared pool of configurable computing services, and it is transforming a large part of the Information Technology industry worldwide. In Cloud computing, there are many emerging large-scale and complex computational problems, and preliminary research on the applications of evolutionary computation in Cloud computing has shown that evolutionary computation is an efficient technique for solving those computational problems. This project will identify new design and optimisation problems in Cloud computing, and design and implement evolutionary algorithms for the new design and optimisation problems. For this project, it is not essential that you have knowledge in Cloud computing or evolutionary computation. However, it is essential that you have sound knowledge and skills in data structures and algorithms, as well as programming.
