Muons are elementary particles, classified as leptons along with electrons and tau. They have a half life of approximately 2 uS and decay by the weak interaction
In this project, the student will develop and test a detection system designed to detect muons. The detection system will involve tandem detectors in gated coincidence mode and testing will be performed on the measurement of atmospheric muons.
