Topic status: We're looking for students to study this topic.
The aim of this project is to develop an XML search engine to run on a SUN Server donated by SUN Microsystems (SEVPDJF2ZSun SPARC Enterprise T5440 server). The search engine should be designed to to utilise the 2 CPUs, each having8 cores, and capable of running 64 concurent threads. The search engine will be tested ontheentire English Wikipedia collection (about 50GB).
Note: good programming skills and experience with C / C++ required.
