Overview
Topic status: We're looking for students to study this topic.
Users can have a hard time remembering their passwords. If we can't help them remember their passwords, can we at least help them remember if they've entered the wrong password?
In this project, you will:
- investigate some newly proposed techniques for helping users realise when they've entered the wrong password using automatically generated audio or visual feedback
- help design and implement audio and/or visual feedback systems for password entry in web applications
- help carry a human subjects study to assess the effectiveness of the proposed systems.
Outcomes
You will learn:
- about recent advances in authentication technologies
- how to carry out human-subject-based research.
Your results will contribute to new knowledge and may become the subject of a research paper.
