This research project aims to develop and implement a computer based decision support system to analyse and integrate operational and financial performance of multimodal container transfer facilities. The system will be developed incorporating sequencing and scheduling algorithms; operating strategies; terminal layout; container handling equipment; ship plans (sizes and operations) and train plans; management information systems; storage control and process; and network transfer balancing.
