Topic status: We're looking for students to study this topic.
As a part of the Business Process Management Virtual Environment projects we are running, we have a need to test the software we are developing on various business process management scenarios. This will provide our research group with further implementation information regarding the quality of the process management tools we are developing. Students performing this project will be asked to develop exemplar business process models in a 3D virtual environment. The process model chosen is arbitrary, however, supervisors will discuss with students potential process models to be developed. By the end of the project, the student will have developed a simple animated 3D model of a business process. This project involves the use of leading edge 3D technology in the area of Business Process Management. Business Process Management is recognised as a major area of IT research and development by industry analysts. There has been much interest in the use of Virtual Environments for business applications. This project will equip you with knowledge of their potential use within commercial enterprises. You will be doing this project within an internationally influential research group, with many opportunities for interaction with major companies that will improve future career prospects.
Required Knowledge: Business Process Modelling knowledge, general programming/scripting experience and a desire to use and critique early prototype software tools.
