Finance

Overview

Finance research at QUT's Business School covers a wide variety of contemporary topics on capital markets, reflecting the current trends in the business world. Areas of particular expertise include corporate governance and compliance issues; corporate payout policy; volatility modelling; analyst forecasts and behaviour; equity offerings; corporate ownership and control; fund performance; and pension and superannuation investments. The major strength of the Finance research program lies in the research capacity and capability which stretch beyond national borders as well as across disciplines through collaborative endeavours with leading universities around the globe. This has facilitated a rapid development of research innovation and further enhanced our understanding of capital markets. Research in finance is supported by a strong financial econometrics research group within the School.
