Ethics
Our research ethics emphasise:
- high ethical standards
- valid and accurate data collection and reporting.
Our research guidelines are based on the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (National Health and Medical Research Council).
The Office of Research oversees accreditation and compliance for human, animal and GMO-related research.
Research with human participants
We are accredited to conduct research involving the participation of humans in accordance with the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Resources.
Research with animal participants
We are accredited to conduct scientific work with animals in accordance with the Australian Code of Practice for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes.
Research with genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
We are registered and accredited to conduct research with genetically modified organisms with the Office of Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR).

Quality assurance
Our research is supported by a quality assured management system. The quality assurance is held by our Office of Commercial Services, which oversees all contractual and legal requirements.
The Office of Commercial Services is a registered third-party quality assured office under AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000.
